Gestures
Light tells us what time it is, and then time tells us something else.
In these images I explore the Abstract Expressionist concept of the gesture. Instead of physical marks on a surface, a camera gesture, with exposures from half a second to 30 seconds, causes light rays focused by the lens to be distributed in a spontaneous way across the sensor - ICM, Intentional Camera Movement.
By compromising the evidential nature of the photographic image I want to replace the facticity of the world with a celebration of its fluid and complex nature.
